Participatory Redevelopment of Park “Demokratsia” — Community-Led Design for a Small Urban Park in Burgas

This pilot presents the participatory redevelopment of a small urban park located along “Demokratsia” Boulevard in Burgas, Bulgaria. The project combines public consultation, urban design, and ecological principles to transform an underused space into an inclusive, green, and multifunctional community park. The design process integrated survey results, local feedback, and spatial analysis to address issues such as lack of greenery, insufficient seating, and limited social spaces. The proposed plan increases green areas, introduces diverse activity zones for all ages, and strengthens the park’s ecological and social functions within the surrounding neighbourhood.
