Minucciano World Cafè

Meeting in Gramolazzo (Minucciano) - 14th December 2024

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, the World Café of the Interreg Euro-MED Bauhaus4MED (B4M) project took place in Gramolazzo, a hamlet of the Municipality of Minucciano (LU), at the Garfagnana Innovazione center. The event was promoted by the Tuscany Region in collaboration with the Department of Architecture at the University of Florence, with coordination by XR8 for the organization of the event, as well as the preparation and provision of both work and review materials.

During the meeting, a participatory event was held, involving both citizens and representatives from local and regional institutions. Upon arrival and after registration, the guests were distributed across various tables. The thematic tables, each accommodating four to five people, were equipped with A3-sized graphic analysis sheets.

The discussion was based on economic tools inspired by the PESTEL and SWOT analysis frameworks. The topics of discussion revolved around society, culture, environment, and economy. In the first phase, participants worked to identify the main challenges facing the Municipality of Minucciano for each assigned theme. The challenges were categorized in the graphic analysis sheets based on their urgency and whether they could be addressed independently by the community or with the support of external resources. Participants engaged in a 40-minute brainstorming session, rotating between tables and topics every 10 minutes. Following a short break, they were asked to identify the opportunities related to the same themes (society, culture, environment, and economy), distinguishing between those that could be managed independently and those that required external assistance, assigning each one a different level of interest and urgency.

The output of this participatory process is the present report, which analyzes the main challenges and opportunities developed for each theme within the Municipality of Minucciano. The report reflects the synergy between citizens and institutions, includes participant feedback, and presents the conclusions drawn during the meeting.
