The approach chosen by Burgas includes the following steps:
1. Select appropriate urban territory, which is climate vulnerable (extreme heat in summer, strong winds, worsen air quality) and includes important social functions (a place visited by many people for spending time outside).
2. Establish a coordination unit -project manager, architects and public relations expert.
3. On-line questionnaire for receiving feedback from local stakeholders about likes and dislikes for the territory and recommendations about its future functions.
4. Personnel meeting with people living next to the selected territory for receiving a feedback from them.
5. Design a concept for renovation with identifies public spaces and their functions within the targeted territory.
6. Public discussion of the concept with local stakeholders for receiving feedback.
7. Discussion of the concept with the members of the Local Resilience and Climate Adaptation Unit (Local Nod).
8. Analyses of results and design of a detailed technical concept for renovation of targeted territory.
9. Implementation of renovation works.
10. Include local stakeholders in renovation works and more specifically in greening activities, as well as local artists in decorating parts of the territory.
